Physician Partners of America announces that Dr. Anthony Clavo , an interventional pain management specialist, has joined its Arlington, Texas interventional pain management practice. Among his areas of expertise are treating the most complex pain and orthopedic cases with a variety of modalities including stem cells.
Dr. Clavo is licensed in Pain Management and Anesthesiology, as well as certified in stem cell and regenerative medicine. He will share the office at 400 W. Arbrook Blvd. Suite #120, Arlington, TX 76014 with Dr. Lakiesha Crawford.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from Xavier University in Louisiana and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. This was followed by an internship at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas and a residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the University of Texas Southwestern and parkland Hospital. He then pursued a fellowship in Acute and Chronic Pain Management from the University of Washington in Seattle.
He started his career as a registered pharmacist but turned to anesthesiology. “It’s essentially applying pharmacology to my patients and observing its benefits in the operating room,” Dr. Clavo says.
From there, he expanded his skillset into pain medicine. “I enjoy the one-on-one interaction with patients and offering them a variety of treatment options, most currently through stem cell therapy. It is the future of medicine,” he says.
A native of New Orleans, Dr. Clavo spent most of his career in Atlanta, founding his own pain management clinic, Southern Spine and Pain Institute. He went on to work with Ortho Spine and Surgery of Atlanta. There he served as lead physician in the company’s interventional spine, orthopedic stem cell, and anti-aging and regenerative medicine divisions at several locations.
Dr. Anthony Clavo is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.
The father of two grown children, Anthony Jr. and Delaney, Dr. Clavo considers himself a foodie who also enjoys golfing, theater and current events.
