He is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is fellowship-trained in Interventional Spine and Pain Management. This background gives him exceptional skill in diagnosing and using minimally invasive techniques to treat pain from many spinal, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
Dr. Median-Sanchez is also highly experienced in providing rehabilitation for brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke. He works regularly with patients in skilled nursing facilities.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Medina-Sanchez graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Exercise Physiology and earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central Del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
He completed an internship at Hospital Damas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, followed by a residency in Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Ill., where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Management at Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater, Fl, which provided him with extensive training in non-invasive spinal procedures.
Dr. Medina-Sanchez authored a musculoskeletal case study that was published in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Journal and in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation online case program. He has also presented at the America Academy of Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation general poster session.
