He was recently named a board member of the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine for the 2017-2019 term.
Born to Puerto Rican parents in the state of Georgia, Dr. Rivera learned the importance of a quality education and career, which then led to him attending the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.
His desire to relieve patients of chronic pain started with his training at Albany Medical Center, where he completed a residency in anesthesiology & pain management. He demonstrated leadership skills early on at Albany, where he was placed in charge of the pain management rotations for the anesthesiology residents and CRNA students. This would be foreshadowing of his prestigious career and position that would be held later on.
Moved by a desire to help people, Dr. Rivera’s love of being a doctor is evident in the relief that countless patients have experienced at his hands.
