Ernesto Perez

Ernesto C. Perez, DNP, MBA, CRNA, APRN, PMC-I, FNAP joined PPOA in early January, 2019. Dr. Perez’s extensive background combines years of clinical experience and teaching, a perfect combination for his role as Vice President of Anesthesia Services and ASC Operations. He is licensed as a CRNA in several states and continues to administer anesthesia at many of PPOA’s facilities.

A native of Cuba, Dr. Perez earned his MSNA and CRNA from Xavier University/Charity Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesiology in New Orleans. He also earned a Doctor of Nursing degree from University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and a post-doctoral Certificate in Healthcare Informatics from Duke University School of Nursing. In 2018, he completed his Executive MBA from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Widely published in scholarly journals and a sought-out presenter, he comes to PPOA from his private practice as an independent contractor, Nurse Anesthesia Professionals, LLC. Dr. Perez also served as assistant professor of nursing for the DNP program at his alma mater, the University of Alabama. He also served as assistant professor of the Nurse Anesthesia programs at Arkansas State University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Xavier University/Medical Center of Louisiana.

In addition to acting as a nurse mentor, he is an advocate for autism, people with disabilities and minorities. He is also an avid practitioner of health, fitness and nutrition, and is a certified yoga instructor.
