Dr. Kravetz, laser spine surgeon in Texas

Dr. Phillip Kravetz, laser spine surgeon in Texas, is a true pioneer in the field.  He sees patients primarily in our Hurst, TX clinic and performs procedures in two PPOA outpatient surgery centers.

Dr. Kravetz earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. While there, he did a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship in Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

He then completed an internship in General Surgery at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, and his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. After that, he completed a fellowship with the Institute of Spinal Disorders at Baylor University Medical School in Houston.

He was introduced to minimally invasive spine surgery back in 2001 and evolved with the technique enough to teach these new skills to hundreds of spine surgeons across the world. Over decades he has proven roving that an incision that can be covered with a Band-Aid can be as effective as open back surgery, with a much quicker recovery and no muscle damage.

He uses endoscopic techniques and laser assistance when required, treating each patient’s back pain uniquely. And they appreciate his expertise.

Patient E.S. writes on Google Reviews: “Dr. Kravetz and his staff are excellent. Dr. Kravetz is very thorough and detailed, he makes having back surgery feel less stressful and scary than it actually is by giving positive and comforting guidance with a professional and expert approach.

Patient T.F says: “[He] was very knowledgeable and spent plenty of time with me explaining my options. I was very pleased with the way I was able to get in and get out. I had no problems and would very strongly recommend Dr. Kravetz.”

Patient M.S. writes: “Dr. Kravetz has been very thorough, detailing all options available to me, he listens well and always seems interested in what I have to say.”

Dr. Kravetz provides the patient-focused care Physician Partners of America and Texas Pain Relief Group are known for, and he aims to continue to offer pain relief through non-opioid solutions.

“I’ve always been big on education and teaching,” Dr. Kravetz says. “I also enjoy teaching patients about minimally invasive techniques. If they understand their spine problem and about the surgery itself, they are more likely to have a good outcome and be more comfortable.”
